Iron Fertilizer EEC
Inorganic mineral fertilizer, iron salt.
Physical and chemical properties: Solubility in water: app. 250 g FeSO4/L (20oC). Bulk density: app. 900 kg/m3. pH (5% aqueous solution, 20oC): from 2.5 to 3.00. Nutrient content: from 17 to 18% of iron (Fe). More than 12% of iron soluble in water.
Use: Copperas is used for prevention and treatment of Iron Chlorosis of vines, fruit trees, berries and ornamentals. It is also used to prevent moss from growing in ornamental lawns. Iron Chlorosis is a physiological disorder that appears in plants due to active iron deficiency. Plants need iron at all times during the growth period in order to develop properly and to synthetisize leaf green. In these cases Copperas proved as an effective fertilizer against Iron Chlorosis. Copperas is iron salt which also contains some other micro elements, but to a lesser extent. It lowers pH value of the soil, improves its structure and makes it more suitable for cultivation and plant growth. Copperas must always be scattered before rain by using rubber gloves, boots and protective clothing. If Copperas is added in the form of a solution, a plastic container can be used, but has to be thoroughly cleaned after use.
