Properties and mode of action

Cuprablau Z 35 WP is a preventive contact fungicide/bactericide used to control diseases of most important agricultural crops. Due to its properties it is suitable for integrated and organic plant protection.

Use

MAJOR USE:

  • On the vine for the production of wine and table grapes for control of downy mildew of grapes (Plasmopara viticola) at a dose of 3 kg/ha at water consumption from 350 to 700 L per ha in 7 to 10 day intervals. Advisable to use at phenological growth stage from the beginning of development of fruit (from BBCH 70 onward) until harvesting, taking into account pre-harvest interval. At the same time the product suppresses red fire disease of grapevine (Pseudopeziza tracheiphila) and black rot of grapevine (Guignardia bidwellii); for control of phomopsis cane and leaf spot (Phomopsis vitis) at a dose of 3 kg/ha at water consumption of 300 L/ha, at 10 to 20 day interval. Application is recommended in phenological growth stage from the opening of the buds to the stage of the third developed leaf (BBCH 8 -13). The product can be applied up to three times in one growing season on the same field.
  • On peaches and nectarines to reduce peach leaf curl disease (Taphrina deformans) on peach at a dose of 3 kg/ha at water consumption of 350 - 700 L/ha. Application should be carried as autumn-winter and pre-flowering treatments in 7 - 10 days intervals. The product can be applied up to three times a year on the same field.
  • On pome fruit trees to control scab (Venturia sp.) at a dose of 3 kg/ha at a water consumption of 350-700 L per ha at 7 to 10 days interval. Advisable to use in the phenological growth stage from the mouse-ear stage to the stage when the inflorescences are in the balloon stage (BBCH 54 - 59), and for autumn-winter treatments when the growth of shoots is completed (from BBCH 91). The product can be applied on the same field up to three times a year.
  • On potato to reduce potato late blight (Phytophthora infestans) and potato early blight (Altenaria solani) at a dose of 3 kg/ha (30 g per 100 m2), at water consumption of 350 to 700 L per ha in 7 to 10 day intervals. Advisable to use at phenological growth stage from time when 70% of the plants have contact between rows until harves, taking into account pre-harvest interval (from BBCH 37 onwards). The product can be applied on the same field up to three times a year.
  • On tomato to reduce tomato late blight (Phytophthora infestans) and tomato early blight (Altenaria solani) at a dose of 3 kg/ha, at water consumption of 400 to 800 L per ha in 7 to 10 day intervals. Advisable to use from the onset of infection until harvest, taking into account pre-harvest interval. The product can be applied on the same field up to three times a year.
  • On hop to reduce downy mildew of hops (Pseudoperonospora humuli) at a dose of 5,5 kg/ha at a water consumption of 1000 L per ha, at 7 to 10 days interval. Advisable to use in the phenological growth stage from the beginning of flowering until harvest, taking into account pre-harvest interval (from BBCH 61 onwards). The product can be applied on the same field up to two times a year.
  • On olives to control the olive peacock spot (Cycloconium oleaginum) at a dose of 2kg/ha at a water consumption of 350-700 L per ha, at 14 days interval. At the same time the product controls cercospora leaf spot (Mycocentrospora cladosporioides). Application is carried out in spring after winter pruning of olive tree, before the onset of spring rain, but prior to flowering of olive trees – from the growth stage, when the fruit reaches 50 % of the size -lignification to the stage when the colouring increase (BBCH 75 - 85), or after harvesting the olives (from BBCH 90 onwards). The product can be applied on the same field up to three times a year.

Phytotoxicity
Product used in recommended doses and in optimal application time in mentioned crops is not phytotoxic. The signs of phytotoxicity can occur in case of rainy and cold weather (air temperature below 8°C).

PHI - Pre harvest interval (waiting period)
Vine, peaches and nectarines 21 days; Hops, potato, olives 14 days; tomato for processing 10 days; tomato fresh 3 days, pome fruits PHI is ensured with the time of use.

MINOR USE:

  • On pome fruit to control of fire blight (Erwinia amylovora) at a dose of 2,5 kg/ha in the phenological growth stage of ''mouse ear'' (BBCH 00 - 54), at the dose of 0,85 kg/ha in the phenological growth stage, when flower buds are visible  until the end of flowering (BBCH 55 - 69) and at the dose of 0,57 kg/ha in the phenological growth stage, when fruits size are up to 10 mm until the advance ripening (BBCH 71 - 85) at 10 days intervals. Water consumption recommendation at application until the end of flowering is 350 – 700 L per ha and after end of flowering is 700 – 1000 L per ha. The product can be applied on the same field up to three times per year until the end of flowering (BBCH 69) and up to five times per year after end of flowering (BBCH 71 - 85). Application at the growing season should be conducted for the wounds disinfection after pruning, after the hailstorm, windstorm and the impact of other natural disasters in the orchards where the blossom blight, shoot blight and disease symptoms were found and in the orchards were disease symptoms were confirmed in the past growing season.       
    Warning: Before using Cuprablau Z 35 WP during the flowering consult with the responsible national institution on the dose and number of treatments. The product can be applied on the same field up to three times a year.
  • On kiwifruit for the control of bacterial canker of kiwifruit (Pseudomonas syringae pv. actinidiae), collar rot (Phytopthora cactorum, Phytopthora spp.), leaf spot of kiwi (Alternaria alternata) and bacterial blight of kiwi (Pseudomonas viridiflava) at the dose of 2 kg/ha at the water consumption from 700 to 1000 L per ha at 7-10 days intervals. Application is carried out in the spring, after pruning, during budding (before flowering) and in autumn after harvesting and. The product can be applied on the same field up to four times a year.
  • In onion, shallots and garlic to control downy mildew of onion (Peronospora destructor) and garlic/onion rust (Puccinia allii) at a dose of 1,8 kg/ha at a water consumption of 200 to 400 L per ha, at 7 to 10 days intervals. Application should be done according to local forecasting service for plant protection. The product can be applied on the same field up to four times a year.
  • In peas and beans (fresh, with pods or without pods) to control downy mildew of legumes (Peronospora viciae) at a dose of 1,5 kg/ha at a water consumption from 300 to 1000 L per ha. Application should be done according to local forecasting service for plant protection. The product can be applied on the same field up to four times a year.
  • In cucurbits with edible peal (cucumbers, pickles, zuccini) to control downy mildew of cucurbits (Pseudoperonospora cubensis) and bacterial leaf spot (Pseudomonas syringae) at a dose of 1,5 kg/ha at water consumption from 300 to 1000 L at a 7 to 10 days interval. Application should be done according to local forecasting service for plant protection. The product can be applied on the same field up to two times a year.
  • In strawberries to control white leaf spot (Mycosphaerella fragariae) and strawberry leaf scorch (Diplocarpon earliana) at a dose of 1,5 kg/ha at water consumption from 300 to 1000 L per ha, at 7 to 10 days interval. Application should be done according to local forecasting service for plant protection. The product can be applied on the same field up to four times a year.
  • On tree nuts (walnut, hazelnut) to control walnut/hazelnut black spot disease (Xanthomonas campestris) at the dose of 2 kg/ha at a water consumption of 350 to 700 L per ha. Application takes place in the spring after the pruning, during budding (before flowering) and in autumn after harvesting. The product can be applied on the same field up to two times a year.

PHI - Pre harvest interval (waiting period)
Onion, shallots, garlic, peas, beans, cucurbits with edible peal, strawberries 3 days; pome fruits (application after the end of flowering) 21 days; pome fruits (application until the end of flowering), stone fruits, walnut, hazelnut, kiwifruit PHI is ensured with the time of use.

REI – Re-entry interval
Workers are allowed to enter on treated surface when the spray mixture is dry.

Preparation of the product for use
Fill the spray tank with one-quarter of the necessary quantity of water. While stirring continuously, add a measured quantity of the product. Fill the spray tank with the rest of water and stir until the use of spray mixture. Application must be done in calm, windless weather to avoid spray drift. Remains of the spray mixture is diluted with water in a ratio of 1:10 and sprayed on already sprayed surface.

Worker exposure control
When handling with concentrated mixture, mixing and loading the tank personal protective equipment is mandatory. During the spraying with tractor mounted sprayer, gloves, protective clothing, protective boots and eye/skin protection is mandatory. In contact with sprayed plants personal protective equipment is mandatory to use (long pants, long sleeve shirts).


Mixing (compatibility):
Cuprablau Z 35 WP is compatible with most commonly used fungicides and fertilizers. However, the fungicide cannot be mixed with pesticides that cause an acid/basic reaction.

Environmental exposure controls (Buffer zone)
During the application, it is necessary to prevent contamination of the watercourses, wells, lakes and springs in order to comply with water protection regulation. For the safety of aquatic organisms, treatment of stone fruits, nuts and hop an unsprayed buffer zone of 30 m wide from the border of water bank 1st and 2nd order, should be considered. For the safety of aquatic organisms, treatment of pome fruits an unsprayed buffer zone of 20 m wide from the border of water bank 1st and 2nd order, should be considered. For the safety of aquatic organisms, treatment of olives an unsprayed buffer zone of 15 m width from the border of water bank 1st and 2nd order should be considered. For the safety of aquatic organisms, treatment of vine, bean, peas, cucurbits with edible peal and kiwifruit an unsprayed buffer zone of 15 m width from the border of water of 1st order and 10 m width from border of water of 2nd order should be considered. For the safety of aquatic organisms, treatment of onion, shallot, garlic, strawberries, tomato and potato an unsprayed buffer zone of 15 m wide from the border of water of 1st order and 5 m width from border of water of 2nd order, should be considered.

WARNING
Cuprablau Z 35 WP can only be used outdoors. When using Cuprablau Z 35 WP or other copper-based products, the number of applications may be reduced, so that annual quantity of pure copper on the same field does not exceed 4 kg of pure copper per ha.

MAXIMUM RESIDUE LEVELS
Maximum residue levels for copper active ingredients are in accordance with the Regulation (EC) No. 396/2005 of the European parliament and of the Council of 23th February 2005 on the maximum levels of pesticide residues in or on food and feed of plant and animal origin and amending Council Directive 91/414/EEC.

Purchasing of Cuprablau Z 35 WP is possible when passing an examination of phytomedicine and presenting a certificate of knowledge issued by an authorized provider.
