About sulphuric acid

The production of titanium dioxide in the process of splitting/melting titanium ores (ilmenite and slag) requires sulphuric acid, which is prepared in-house using clean sulphur combustion technology.

Most of the sulphuric acid produced is used in the production of TiO2 in the process of decomposing titanium ores, and this is the primary use of the sulphuric acid produced here. Surplus quantities are placed on the market for use in other industries.

Consumers of sulphuric acid include other chemical and pharmaceutical industries.

Sulphuric acid is one of the most important and indispensable versatile products in the chemical industry. It is used in the production of inorganic and organic chemicals, including fertilizers, as a catalyst, pH regulator, in surface treatment processes, etching, electrolysis, gas cleaning, battery manufacturing and processing, as a laboratory chemical, etc.

Sustainability

Sustainable management of by-products

We prepare our own sulphuric acid using clean sulphur combustion technology for the production of titanium dioxide, primarily for the decomposition of titanium ores. The process of burning sulphur in the production of sulphuric acid produces water steam as a by-product. The latter is beneficially used in production processes and for heating production facilities and workspaces. As a consequence, natural gas consumption is reduced and CO2 emissions are lowered.

We produce the following concentrations of sulphuric acid
