Preventive Contact Fungicide in the WG Formulation

Composition and properties:
Active substance: sulphur .... 800 g/kg.
Formulation: wettable granules (WG)

Physical properties:

  • pH value of 5% suspension: from 8.0 to 8.3;
  • solubility: the product is insoluble in water;
  • instant wetting;
  • stability of the suspension in standard hard water after 30 minutes: 85 – 88%.

Mode of action:

  • it has a contact effect by gas phase;
  • due to the ability of dissolving fat, it penetrates into the cells through lipoids of plasma membranes;
  • inside the cells it reduces to hydrogen sulphide, it destroys mycelium and the spores of Powdery mildew that belong to the group of superficial fungus diseases;
  • it has a preventive effect which can also be curative in higher dosages.

Advantages of use:

  • suitable for integrated and organic cultivation;
  • it enables simple and quick preparation of the spray mixture, directly inside the reservoir, free from dust, foam or residues left in the package;
  • it ensures a very good suspensibility and stability of the mixture, also in hard water;
  • long-term use does not cause resistance;
  • it has an acaricide side effect on Acari;
  • optimal ratio between small and bigger parts enables good performance of the product;
  • not toxic for bees;
  • at an available price;
  • short pre-harvest interval (24 hours).

Side effects:

  • it controls acariosis and erinosis of vines;
  • it reduces fruit russeting;
  • it improves leaf and flower colouring with ornamentals.

Uses by cultures:
Pepelin is used in concentration of 0.2 to 0.5% in order to prevent the following plant diseases:

  • Powdery mildew of grape (Uncinula necator)
  • Powdery mildew of apple (Podosphaera leucotricha)
  • Powdery mildew of peach (Sphaerotheca pannosa var. persicae)
  • Powdery mildew of hops (Sphaerotheca humuli)
  • Powdery mildew of vegetables (Oidium spp.)
  • Powdery mildew of ornamental plants – Begonias, Chrysantemum, Hydrangeas (Oidium spp.)
  • Grape leaf rust mite (Calepitrimerus vitis)

Phytotoxicity:
The product is not phytotoxic if used in the recommended quantities and in the correct manner.
