Cinkarna Celje Launches Slovenia’s First Industrial 5G Private Network

Cinkarna Celje has taken a significant step forward in its digital transformation by introducing Slovenia’s first industrial 5G private network. The network enables faster and more reliable data transmission with low latency, improving the efficiency and productivity of warehouse operations. Materials in the warehouses are now tracked using barcode scanners, and sensors are directly connected via the 5G network.

“The low latency and reliable connectivity allow us to use advanced technologies such as automation and remote operations, which enhance the safety and reliability of our services,” explained Aleš Skok, CEO of Cinkarna Celje.

The private 5G network provides robust coverage of production areas and warehouses, ensuring stable data transfer even with a large number of connected devices. In the future, Cinkarna plans to expand the use of the network to digitise other business segments where it brings operational benefits.
